Rugby Open, Chiltern Final, Aylesbury Sprints

A group of six girls entered the Rugby open meet. Charlotte Errington won the 14 years 100m breaststroke and came second in the 50m and 200m events. Hannah Wilson swam a personal best time in the 12 years 200m breaststroke as did Taylor Saunders in the 12 years 50m freestyle. In the 10 years age group Emily Young set a new personal best time in each of her three swims, 50m freestyle, breaststroke and butterfly. Jennifer Dean gained third place in the 14 years 100m and 50m freestyle and fourth in the 50m butterfly and 100m backstroke. Lisa Patrick completed the squad, entering six events and swimming her best result in the 200m breaststroke with a fifth place.

A visit to Wellingborough for the final round of the Chiltern League saw the club in third place behind Linslade Crusaders and Leighton Buzzard. 

A number of swimmers in setting personal best times were too fast for the control times, so scoring no points for the team. These were Alison Reynolds (10m freestyle), Keiran Woods (10m freestyle), Elliot Moulder (50m breaststroke) and Matthew Reynolds (50m backstroke). The open girls medley relay team were also ‘too fast’. 

Further personal best times were set by Michaela Yates (50m breaststroke), Yasmin Bull (50m freestyle), Claire Holland (50m backstroke), Thomas Moore (50m backstroke), Danielle Beaman (50m backstroke), Nathan Merridan (50m freestyle), Keiran Woods (100m backstroke), Andrew Barton (50m freestyle), Alison Reynolds (100m individual medley) and Carl Adamson (100m individual medley). Danielle and Alison also came first in their races. 

Wins for the team also came from the boys and girls under 13 years medley relay teams, he boys under 15 years medley relay team, and the girls under 11 and open age group freestyle relay teams. 

Individual wins were achieved by Carl Adamson in the 50m butterfly, Yasmin Bull in the 50m freestyle and Carl Harris and Hannah Wilson in the 100m breaststroke. 

A visit to Aylesbury for a sprints and relays gala proved successful for the club, with a comfortable win ahead of Henley. 

New club records for their ages were set by David Jardine in the 50m butterfly (28.37s) and Jonathan Fields in the 50m backstroke (31.47s). Both boys won these events. 

Personal best times were set in the individual events by Rosalind Bray and Alice Butler in the butterfly events, Keiran Woods, Sasha Woods and Harry Simpson in the freestyle events and Hannah Wilson, Keiran Woods, Jonathan Fields and David Jardine in the breaststroke events. Rosalind, Hannah, Sasha and David also won their races. 

The relay teams were of mixed sex and wins were achieved by the 16 years and under and open age group teams in all disciplines. The 12 years and under team won the freestyle and backstroke events and the 14 years and under team won the breaststroke event. 

Individual wins were achieved by Lisa and Marie Patrick, Jennifer Dean and David Willcox in the freestyle events, David Willcox in the butterfly, Jennifer Dean and Thomas Moore in the backstroke and Louisa Prentice and Charlotte Errington in the breaststroke.
