Bletchley C Grade, Diddy League - Round 1

Bletchley hosted a C Grade gala at Stantonbury and the club came in second behind St Neots. 

Fourteen personal best times were achieved by the team swimmers in the course of the gala. The butterfly events proved to be successful for Robyn Varley and Alice Butler, while the breaststroke was better for Chelsey Hawkins and Charlie Bateman. Carl Adamson bettered his individual medley best time and David Willcox and Ashling Baggaley beat their previous best times in the freestyle events. Backstroke proved to be the discipline of the evening with best times coming from Chloe Errington, Robyn Varley, Robert Yates, Sarah Hpa, Rachel Hpa, Taylor Saunders and Scott Sharples. In achieving their best times Robyn won her race and Ashling swam to fast for the control time. 

Wins came from the girls 14 years and under and 16 years and under freestyle relay teams along with the squadron relay. 

Individual wins wee recorded by Laura Sutherland and Daniel Heath in the 100m individual medley, Daniel Heath in the 50m butterfly and Rachel Mason and Carl Adamson in the 100m breaststroke. 

The club hosted the first round of the Milton Keynes Junior League at Leighton Buzzard. Most teams had difficulty in fielding swimmers of the younger ages. Where have all the swimmers gone? This made for a bit of a lonely swim for some competitors. In the end the club came home second behind St Ives. 

The club was unable to compete in 9 events and swam over age competitors in two others. 

Seventeen personal best times were set by the team members. Danielle Beaman, Elliot Moulder, Hannah Wilson, Mitchel Tofts, Hannah Gillies and Joe Rice achieved their in the freestyle events, while Kirsten Baggaley, Lauren Keighley, Matthew Reynolds and Hannah Wilson beat their previous times in the breaststroke. Callum Moulder, Edward Baxter, Evie Butler, Lauren Keighley and Nathan Merridan scored in the butterfly events with the backstroke proving successful for Mitchel Tofts and Evie Butler. In beating heir previous best times Danielle, Lauren, Evie and Hannah won their events. 

Maximum points were added by the girls relay teams in the 9 years and 11 years and under freestyle events and the 11 years and under and 12 years and under medley events. 

Further individual first places were recorded by Danielle Beaman and Emily Young in the backstroke events and Alice Butler in the butterfly and freestyle events.
